How it works

From the Founder

I created nicholas james for discerning men under 5'9". We use the same premium fabrics as the brands you already love, cut and proportioned for a shorter frame.

Most brands fit a model around 6'2". Shirts run too long to wear untucked, pants have too much rise and inseam, sweaters bunch at the sleeve. nicholas james starts from a shorter-frame block instead of altering one built for someone else.

Our Difference

5'9"

The ceiling. Every piece is built specifically for men 5'9" and under — not adapted after the fact.

Alterations required. Proportions are designed from the start, not adjusted after.

Offered in sizes XS–XL, with a proportionate rise, sleeve, and body length throughout. Buy your normal size and be prepared for it to fit better. We also offer a size ML for those between a Medium and a Large. See Size Guide on product pages for more details.

Shortly after our first launch, the nicholas james team traveled to North Berwick for a week of golf and good company — the kind of trip that reminds you why you fell for this game in the first place.

We stayed in North Berwick and played courses within a short drive — the West Links, Dunbar, Muirfield, and the Glen Golf Club, each with views across the Firth of Forth. Despite Scotland's reputation, we lucked into 50–60° days with just a light breeze all week.

How Special-Ordering Works

Step 1

— Browse the Collection

Review the current nicholas james collection and select the styles, colors, and sizes you'd like to order.

Step 2

— Share Your Logo Instructions

Decide if you'd like your club's logo on the Left Chest, Left Sleeve, or Blank (no logo).

Step 3

— Place Your Order Through the Pro Shop

Submit your selections to your golf professional, who will coordinate the special order on your behalf.

Step 4

— Receive Your Order

Your garments will be fulfilled and delivered directly to the pro shop, typically within 10 days.
